About Krung Capital

An organisation founded on the belief that adults at any age can develop a more composed, informed relationship with their household finances — when given the right setting to learn.

Our Story

Krung Capital was established in Hua Hin to address a gap that its founders had observed over many years working with adults approaching retirement and those already in it. Most financial information available in Thailand — whether in print, online, or through advisers — is written for people who already understand the terminology, or is tied to the sale of a specific product.

Adults who had spent careers in teaching, medicine, law, trade, or the civil service often arrived at a significant financial decision — selling a property, organising their estate, beginning to draw on savings — without having ever had the chance to simply sit with the underlying ideas in a calm, educational setting.

The organisation takes its name from the Thai word for Bangkok — Krung — used historically as a shorthand for a place of cultural and civic importance. The name reflects an ambition: to be a place where adults can develop financial understanding with the same seriousness and care that they would bring to any significant undertaking in life.

Programmes are held at a premises on Petchkasem Road in Hua Hin, a town that has long attracted a mix of Thai and international residents looking for a quieter pace of life. The setting is deliberately unhurried. Sessions run across multiple meetings, with material introduced gradually and time given between them for participants to read, reflect, and return with questions.

Krung Capital does not sell financial products and does not manage investments. The organisation has no commercial relationship with any fund manager, bank, or insurance provider. This independence is considered fundamental to the credibility of the programmes.

Our Standards

The principles that shape how we prepare and deliver every programme.

Commercial Independence

Krung Capital holds no commercial relationship with any financial product provider. There is nothing to sell and no commission to earn. Participants receive background education only.

Curriculum Accuracy

All programme materials are reviewed annually and updated to reflect current Thai regulatory frameworks, market data, and estate law. Outdated information is removed promptly.

Privacy and Discretion

Personal financial details shared by participants during sessions remain entirely confidential. No participant data is shared with third parties. Contact information is held securely and used only for programme communications.

Facilitated by Practitioners

Sessions are led by facilitators with direct professional experience in finance, estate law, or financial planning — not by generalist trainers. Each facilitator leads only the programme area where their background is strongest.

Clear Scope of Education

We are clear about what we are and what we are not. When a participant's question moves beyond background education into advice territory, we say so directly and point them toward appropriate licensed professionals.

Participant Feedback Loop

Every programme ends with a brief written feedback form. Responses are read carefully and used to refine the pace, language, and content of future sessions. The programmes have developed substantially through this process.

Financial Education for Adults in Thailand

Adults who come to Krung Capital are typically people who have managed their finances competently for many years — paying into pension funds, contributing to property, accumulating savings — without ever quite understanding the structure of what they were doing. Financial education at this stage of life is not remedial. It is an opportunity to develop a more considered framework for the decisions that remain ahead.

Thailand presents a particular context. The legal structures governing wills, inheritance, and property ownership in Thailand differ in important ways from those in countries where many of our participants grew up. Understanding these differences — particularly for households with assets or family in more than one country — is a practical concern that affects real decisions.

The Hua Hin region has become home to a growing community of adult residents, both Thai and international, who value a slower, more reflective pace of life. Krung Capital's programmes are designed with this community in mind: small in scale, personal in approach, and unhurried in delivery. There is no expectation that participants will absorb complicated material quickly, and no pressure to make decisions during or immediately after a session.

The drafting of a personal Investment Policy Statement — one of our three programme offerings — is a practice that institutional investors have used for decades. Making that same practice accessible to a private household in Thailand, in plain English, through guided sessions with a facilitator, is one of the more distinctive things Krung Capital offers.
